In your opinion, is hiring someone to stage your home necessary? Yes, no or sometimes? Please explain.

Agent #1 – Nick Polegato – EXP Realty

“Nick uses technology to empower Sellers and Buyers by providing more value, selling over $20 Million in homes over the last two years.”

“Yes. Staging is one of the most important things you can do to market your home and the statistics back this up.

  • 73% less time on the market
  • 46% of 3,500 staged homes sold for 10% more than they would have as non-staged homes
  • 31% of buyers claimed staging their home increased their offer on a home

Staging helps bring out the most aesthetic version of your home and allows buyers see themselves in the space.”

Agent #2 – Severine Neba – eXp Realty Brokerage

“I am very passionate about helping my clients in realizing that their needs and dreams can be met. Working with me is all about feeling protected and confident about the entire process.”

“I Absolutely recommend home staging. It could be hiring someone or doing it yourself. Hiring a professional will ensure the job is well done and the proper pieces of furniture and decor are used to advertise the property.”

Agent #3 – Krista Weatherall – eXp Realty

“I love to work with people buying or selling their home especially with first time home buyers, and investors!”

“To me, it’s not a yes or no, its property dependant. Do I think staging is a great tool when selling a home? Absolutely. Do I work with incredible stagers that can make your house look amazing? You bet I do! However, the reality of the situation is that stagers come at a cost. And for some homes that cost might not be worth it in the end. Maybe the home owner has great taste and the house looks great and just needs a few things. In that case, I would go through with the Seller, help them make the few tweaks, and then we won’t require a stager. Sometimes we think a home will sell fast empty, and so it’s not needed! But on the other hand, sometimes the seller knows they need some sprucing, or the home is vacant, and empty and we want to bring a little life to it. In that case, I think staging is a must!”

Agent #4 – Mike Labreche – REMAX Affiliates Realty

“Michael has always put others first and will do anything to help someone when in need; it is something that defines who he is.”

“I would say yes, because our stager gives all of our listing clients a one-hour walk thru and gives a constructive opinion on what needs to get done to list the property.”

Agent #5 – Julie Milne – Innovation Realty Ltd.

“A keen sense for all things Real Estate related, my knowledge and attention to detail ensures complete satisfaction. A full-service agent, I go the extra mile all of the time.”

“I stage. I’m a stager. All of my properties are staged. Yes, I’m a huge advocate of staging. It could be because I have a (ahem..a slight) Home Sense/Urban Barn shopping addiction and not one but two storage units to store decor. Switching out dark for light, dated for new, adding greenery, and beautiful art, it all draws the buyer in from the first photo click to the first footstep in the door. There have been studies to prove that well-staged homes sell for more money in less time than un-staged homes. I can not count the number of times, when viewing a listing, a client will ask “Can I buy the furniture and decor too?” List/Stage/Sell/Repeat. It’s my motto.”

Agent #6 – Luka Maric – The Agency Ottawa

“Luka’s clients appreciate his honesty, dedication, and outside of the box thinking. Luka’s attention to detail comes to light when he is negotiating on behalf of his clients.”

“This is highly dependent on the area, age, price of the home, and most importantly market conditions. Staging is definitely a massive bonus (if done right). It helps prospective buyers envision themselves in the home, which will get the home sold faster and for more money.”

Agent #7 – Brittany Byrd – Royal Lepage

“Brittany’s past experiences attest to her dedication to hard work and without question striving for the absolute best for her clients.”

“It depends- some Sellers have a very neutral, modern selection of furniture which makes it easy to work with. On the other hand, some sellers have lived in their homes for many years and over time they have accumulated not only their items but leftover items from their adult children, which are beautiful but not necessarily ideal for staging. In these situations, we can work with some of the seller’s furniture but remove some pieces and add staging pieces to help each room have a clear intention and purpose.”

Agent #8 – Michele Rowe – Details Realty Inc.

“I love the real estate business and have 19 years experience to help you make the best possible decisions. I view representation and guidance of my clients through this process as a true privilege.”

“Staging a home is necessary. Staging brings a potential buyer all the closer to a final vision of what their furniture could look like in the home. When you can place a vision in front of a buyer, it’s easier to secure a sale. This is especially true when it comes to luxury homes and houses that have a higher price tag than average.

The first impression is the last impression.  It’s important to get that ‘Wow’ effect the minute the potential buyers arrive at the front door.”

Agent #9 РJames Angus РEngel & V̦lkers Ottawa South

“James has developed strong negotiating skills and attention to detail which provides his clients with a professional and personal real estate experience.”

“It’s not always necessary to fully stage a property. A staging consultation is always worth the investment. They’ll be able to give tips and tell the sellers what to remove and reposition in the property to make the biggest impact on prospective buyers. Sometimes staging is a benefit depending on the situation.”

Agent #10 – Cindy McCaig – Keller Williams Integrity Realty

“I am passionate about helping others. My entrepreneurial spirit, combined with my intuitive ability to empathize with my clients, enables me to adapt easily to any kind of situation.”

“Absolutely!! Unless the property looks like a model home already. Staging a property is something everyone should do. It is proven that a well-presented property sells for more. Stagers have the ability to transform the space and enhance the selling features of the property.”
